Red Carpet Review: The 83rd Annual Academy Awards

Last night was my Christmas. It is also my favorite night on television. The Oscars. AHH! I just love saying those words. The award show was great. Anne Hathaway and James Franco were so funny and entertaining. They were great hosts. But folks, I am really here to talk about the red carpet. I was very impressed with the looks of the evening. There was a little bit of everything. Here are my favorite looks of the evening.

Cate Blanchett is the prime example of a woman who can pull of a runway dress on the red carpet. The dress is by Givenchy Haute Couture. She looks fabulous. The hair…the jewels…perfection.

Celine Dion was definitely a surprise for me. She just had twins a few months ago, and she looks amazing in this Armani Privé gown. The hair is also stunning.

Sandra Bullock chose this stunning red Vera Wang gown. It is simple, but it looks so effortless. The only criticism I have is her hair. I wish she did something more sophisticated.

This dress by Calvin Klein fits Gwyneth Paltrow to a tee. I am also obsessed with her Louis Vuitton jewels.

Halle Berry looks stunning in this Marchesa gown. The color could not be more perfect for her skin tone. Gorgous!

Reese Witherspoon looks classic in this Armani Privé gown. I love the hair and the jewels by Neil Lane as well. She looks like a modern day Grace Kelly.

This Elie Saab dress is amazing on Mila Kunis. She can do NO wrong. I love this color on her, as well as the effortless flow the dress has. It looks comfortable too.

For all you young starlets out there, THIS is how you dress. Hailee Steinfeld looks so beautiful in this custom Marchesa dress. It is so age appropriate, but it is sweet and beautiful. I am loving the gold shoes by Salvatore Ferragamo too.

Best Looking Couple

I would say that the best looking couple would have to be Matthew McConaughey in a Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo with Camila Alves in a Kaufman Franco gown. They look amazing together, and Camila looks gorgeous after just having a baby as well.

Best Dressed
My best dressed of the evening is definitely Natalie Portman. She is glowing in this gown by Rodarte. This neckline really suits her, and the color of the dress…OMG! I love this eggplant purple. The whole look, with the hair, the  jewels by Tiffany & Co., and the shoes by Jimmy Choo, looks amazing. I just can’t get enough.

Red Carpet Review: SAG Awards

Last night was the Screen Actors Guild Awards. Although I was not really impressed with the gowns that were shown, I was still able to select a few as my top looks of the evening. And here they are…

Melissa Leo

I love this dress that Melissa Leo is wearing. It is by Randi Rahm. The look is flawless, but next time, I would suggest she wear some Spanx.

Tina Fey

Tina Fey was definitely ‘Most Improved’  in this Oscar de la Renta gown. I love this deep red as well. It is so classy!

Claire Danes

Claire Danes chose this bright and fun Louis Vuitton dress. I just love the print. It is very different from what she usually wears.

January Jones

January Jones finally made it in my book in this Carolina Herrera dress. I usually don’t go for a mermaid gown, but this one is so subtle.

Natalie Portman chose this dress by Azzaro. I love the simplicity, and I am so happy that she is finally showing off her baby bump. Her earrings by Tiffany & Co. were also absolutely amazing. They were worth $1 million!

My Favorite Look of the Evening:

Mila Kunis

Mila Kunis looked absolutely stunning last night in this Alexander McQueen dress. I love it! It is so fresh and perfect for this award ceremony. The hair and make-up is flawless as well!

Red Carpet Review: The Golden Globe Awards

Here is my review for my favorite looks from last night’s Golden Globe Awards. I was pretty impressed with the choices the celebrities were wearing. It was definitely a great start to Award Season.

A pregnant Natalie Portman looked stunning in  this Viktor & Rolf gown. It suits her figure perfectly. I also love the hair and makeup.

Anne Hathaway was one of my favorites last night. She glimmered in this Armani Privé gown. This how you wear a long-sleeved gown. Her hair and makeup looks flawless as well.

Jake Gyllenhaal is looking sharp in this Burberry tuxedo. He cleaned up very nicely for this occasion.

I  just love this color on Mila Kunis. She usually ops to wear black or white, so it was nice to see her in some color for a change. She chose this Vera Wang gown, and it fits her like a glove.

Wow! I am loving Piper Perabo in this Oscar de la Renta gown. This dress is so classic and chic. It is timeless.

James Franco was one of my top men of the night. He looks great in this Gucci suit.

Amy Adams also looks stunning. I love the cut out detail of her Marchesa gown. It is truly unique.

Eva Longoria looks amazing in this Zac Posen gown. For being so petite, this dress actually makes her look taller.

My Favorite of the Evening:

Olivia Wilde was my #1 pick of the evening. She looks like a princess in this chocolate-brown Marchesa ball gown. She looks absolutely glamorous. Job well done Olivia!

Best Dressed at the 2010 Emmy Awards

The 2010 Emmy Award show was last night, and it was quite a show! Jimmy Fallon was hilarious as the host of the evening. The fashion (the most important part), was absolutely amazing! The stars were definitely dressed to impress. The common colors of the evening were black and white. Here are my top looks of the evening (in no particular order).

Rose Byrne looks stunning in this futuristic Gucci gown. I think her hair style could have been a whole lot better, but I just love this gown.

I love that January Jones took a huge risk with this Atelier Versace number. The shape is truly unique, fun, and perfect for her narrow frame. I also love that she chose a bold color versus the usual black and white.

Kyra Sedgwick’s dress by Monique Lhuillier looks like it was made out of rose petals. It is so beautiful, and she looks stunning in it. I just wish she put her hair up in a chic updo though.

Heidi Klum chose this little number by Marchesa. I love that she was one of the few who wore a short dress (as if her legs aren’t long enough!). It is still August afterall. I usually do not like black on the red carpet, but this dress seemed to photograph really well.

I think that Hugh Dancy and Claire Danes are the best dressed couple of the evening. Hugh Dancy is wearing a Burberry tux and Claire Danes is wearing Armani Privé. They look so charming together.
