Best Dressed at the 2010 Emmy Awards

The 2010 Emmy Award show was last night, and it was quite a show! Jimmy Fallon was hilarious as the host of the evening. The fashion (the most important part), was absolutely amazing! The stars were definitely dressed to impress. The common colors of the evening were black and white. Here are my top looks of the evening (in no particular order).

Rose Byrne looks stunning in this futuristic Gucci gown. I think her hair style could have been a whole lot better, but I just love this gown.

I love that January Jones took a huge risk with this Atelier Versace number. The shape is truly unique, fun, and perfect for her narrow frame. I also love that she chose a bold color versus the usual black and white.

Kyra Sedgwick’s dress by Monique Lhuillier looks like it was made out of rose petals. It is so beautiful, and she looks stunning in it. I just wish she put her hair up in a chic updo though.

Heidi Klum chose this little number by Marchesa. I love that she was one of the few who wore a short dress (as if her legs aren’t long enough!). It is still August afterall. I usually do not like black on the red carpet, but this dress seemed to photograph really well.

I think that Hugh Dancy and Claire Danes are the best dressed couple of the evening. Hugh Dancy is wearing a Burberry tux and Claire Danes is wearing Armani Privé. They look so charming together.

Light as a Feather

During New York Fashion Week last February, I saw a  whole flock of feathers. The trend is going to be very popular this fall and winter. Feathers can be chic and sophisticated as well as playful and fun. They are definitely a trend that I am looking forward to this upcoming season. I found some great items that can be easily added into your wardrobe.

Now, I have never really been a cat person, but I can definitely make an exception for the delectable leopard print. This trend is going to be HUGE for the fall. If you are afraid of wearing the print, don’t worry, below are some pieces that are simple and super easy to wear with other pieces already in your closet.

This little dress is just so flattering and the print is very light and not over the top. This is a great piece if you want to put leopard into your wardrobe, but you don’t want to go head first. The dress is $52 at Fredflare.com

This top would look so cute with jeans and a boyfriend blazer. It is very soft and feminine with the ruffles. I love that it isn’t too sexy too. The top is $69.50 at Bananarepublic.com
